Dear Viewer,
Welcome to my website and thank you for being here. Photography has been in my life as far back as I can remember. During my childhood I wanted to be a watercolor artist, but quickly realized that I couldn’t draw worth beans! A good friend of mine, who was an avid photographer, introduced me to photography which allowed me to express my creativity without the need for a pencil or a paintbrush. It is because of her, I bought my first Manual SLR camera and that’s where my journey began. During the 1970’s I was active duty Navy stationed close to Washington DC and New York City. Every free moment I had, I was out exploring those two great cities with my camera and it proved to be a wonderful learning experience.
Photographers can express themselves in so many ways; nature, wildlife, people, gardens, avant-garde etc. Personally, I tend to specialize in landscapes and gardens. There is nothing like walking through a field and discovering that historical old barn, being inches from the amazing butterfly that posed for me to get the perfect shot, or spending hours walking through the forest to find just the right view of the Pacific Ocean. As a professional photographer, I look at things from a different point of view and enjoy setting up my equipment to capture the true essence of what I see.
I do not include people in my photographs for a specific reason - I want you, the viewer, to picture yourself walking down that path; sitting on the beach watching the sunset and listening to the ocean’s roar, or looking at the lavender and being able to smell its wonderful light aroma. Some folks that have ordered my prints have given me the ultimate compliment… “Wow, I feel like I’m there.” That is what I want you to feel and I hope my photos bring the same peace and enjoyment to you, as they did for me when I pressed the shutter button to capture that moment in time.
Again, I want to thank you for coming to my website and I invite you to look through all of my galleries. I welcome any questions or comments you may have and hope you come back often to visit.
